Meet the Team

paul collins

Hi, I’m Paul and Manager of Ocean Spirit Leisure Centre.  I have been in this role for the last two years, but have been working in the leisure industry for over 16 years.  I teach swim lessons, gym classes and do fitness assessments and programmes.  During my time off I’m a keen scuba diver and an instructor in this field.

lisa reilly

Hi, I’m Lisa, I am from Islandeady, Westport. I am a qualified Personal Trainer, Group Fitness Instructor, Pilates Instructor and Swim Teacher. I have worked at Hotel Westport Leisure Centre for almost 7 years. Last year I was a finalist for Best Pilates Class Ireland with the Irish Fitness Awards.

I teach a variety of fitness classes from spinning to step aerobics. I also design personalised programs for our members.  I regularly do Health & Nutrition talks for groups in the Hotel and fitness classes for the older adult.

My favourite class to teach by far is Pilates. Pilates is Strength, Flexibility and body awareness. It focuses on strengthening of the Core. It also improves posture, increases strength, tone of the abdominals, lower back, hips, buttocks and improved stabilisation of the spine. Pilates also increases lung capacity and circulation through deep breathing. It is my personal choice of workout too!
